Q: Who is eligible for Legal Update I with AceableAgent?

You can take our continuing education courses if you have held a real estate license for at least two years. If you've only been an agent for one year, however, you'll need to take Sales Agent Apprentice Education (SAE) courses. Meanwhile, if you're a licensed real estate broker, you'll need to take our continuing education courses for brokers.

Q: How long do I have to complete Legal Update I with AceableAgent?

In order to keep your license, you'll want to finish your CE requirement before your renewal deadline is up.

Q: When will my course credits be reported to TREC?

As soon as you've passed your final Legal Update I exam, we report your course hours to TREC. Education providers have 10 days to report course credit hours to TREC. We typically get this done for you well within that time frame. You can check up on your credits at trec.texas.gov

Q: What happens if I miss my renewal filing deadline?

If you miss your deadline, you can either pay TREC a $200 deferral fee to extend your deadline and license by 60 days OR you can renew your license as 'inactive.'

Legal Update I is the first Legal Update course of the two required for Texas post-licensing renewal and any subsequent Texas continuing education renewal. This course covers a variety of topics which are updated every two years by TREC.
